VMIX Shuffles Staff, Rolls Out New Player

San Diego-based VMIX, a provider of video publishing tools for web publishers, said today that the firm has shuffled its executive staff and delivered a new version of its VMIX Player. According to the firm, the moves come as it goes into an "aggressive expansion" phase. VMIX said that it has appointed Mike Glickenhaus as President and CEO, and appointed co-founder and former CEO Greg Kostello as CTO. Co-founder and EVP Terry Ash is now in charge of partner alliances, and the firm has hired on Dan Charleston as SVP of Business Development. Among changes in the firm's player include a new tool to help site producers speed up and simplify their design process, and better encoding tools. VMIX is now focused on media management tools for web publishers; originally, the firm was focused on a consumer tool for allowing users to create video slideshows. The company is venture backed by ATA Ventures, Enterprise Partners, JK&B Capital, and Mission Ventures.
