Disney Teams With Intel On Drone Show

Drones are taking over Walt Disney World Resort in Florida--at least, for the holiday season--after a deal between Glendale-based Walt Disney Company and Intel. The drone show will be at the Disney Springs entertainment district. The two said the new drones--specifically designed for entertainment--will fly in a choreographed aerial performance set to holiday-themed music.

Disney Interactive Buys Game Studio

Burbank-based Disney Interactive Studios said today that it has acquired Wideload Games , a Chicago-based developer of interactive entertainment. As part of the buy, Disney said that Wideload's founder and CEO, Alexander Seropian, has joined the firm as Vice President of Creative, and will relocate to Glendale. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Disney's Zootopia A Triumph In Computer Animation, As Much As Filmmaking

According to the producers and staff behind Disney's Zootopia, in a rare technical look and preview of the film recently held at Disney's Glendale animation studios, the modeling and simulation of fur movement in Zootopia includes more than 64 different species of animal, a nearly logarithmic increase from the modeling for a film like Disney's Bolt, the last computer animated film with a furry main character.
