Unlike most web media firms, we've got a real, protectable IP, based on serious computer science, three patents, and five more pending. There's been an unusually complex amount of engineering, compared to a web media startup, but that's a good thing. Venture capital seemed the obvious way to do that.

Allison Dollar: SnapCuts is a digital media marketing platform, which uses social video messaging. Brands that have a fan base can use it as a marketing platform, and they can push things out to their list. What is the SnapCuts service? For a receiver, the receiving page on SnapCuts can also be branded or skinned.

What happens when you apply big data and computer science to digest all of that social data being fed into Twitter and other social platforms--and cross match that to location information? Those three organizations have very strong networks inventure capital, entertainment, and academia, and put together the incubator.

I have a number of investments tackling the SMB space, including InDinero and Postling, all creating platforms to help small and medium sized businesses in some distinct way.
