RealD Adds 1,000 Screens At AMC Entertainment

Los Angeles-based 3D movie projection technology provider RealD has inked an agreement to expand the number of 3D screens at AMC Entertainment by a thousand screens, the firms said Thursday. According to RealD, it will equip up to 1,000 additoinal screens with RealD's 3D technology, across AMC's theaters in the United States and Canada. Financial impact of the additional screens was not announced by the companies.

Los Angeles-based RealD , a provider of 3D theater projection technology, has signed on theater firm AMC Entertainment as a customer of the firm. According to AMC and RealD, AMC is set to deploy up to 1,500 RealD 3D screens in the US and Canada. According to RealD, the deal brings its total committed screens to 8,000 worldwide; the firm said it has approximately 2,600 of its 3D screens installed today.
