What I want to answer with this post (long though it may be) is: Why did Web 2.0 asymmetry, real-time, curated RSS / link-sharing]. Social Networking in Web 2.0. Right now our social graph (whom we are connected to and their key information like email addresses) is mostly held captive by Facebook.
