Encantos Links With Teachers With Educator In Residence Program

Culver City-based Encantos, the venture-backed developer of family entertainment education brands which raised $2M in January, says it has launched a new program which links the company with educators, the companys said today. Encantos said its new "Educator in Residence" program will connect the company with educators around the world who are "inspiring 21st century kids to learn 21st century skills." Encantos said it will strategic, financial, and operational support for a research-based initiative of their choice tied to a number of educational areas. The first "Educator in Residence" is Irma Vasquez, a native Spanish-bilingual teacher raised by Puerto Rican parents with almost 30 years of classroom teaching experience, who is an Adjunct Professor at Loyola Marymount University (LMU). Encantos said Vazquez launch the first Southern California (South Bay) Dual Language Program at Washington School in the Redondo Beach Unified School District as a kindergarten teacher and founded the "My Escuelita, Spanish for Kids" program in Los Angeles.
