WestHollywood-based CityGrid Media , the unit of IAC formerly known as CitySearch, said today that it has acquired BuzzLabs , a social media monitoring and sentiment analysis software developer. CityGrid Media operates the Citysearch, Insider Pages and Urbanspoon web sites. BuzzLabs was based in Seattle.
WestHollywood-based Dear Media , which is developing a podcasting network focused on female voices, said on Thursday that it has raised $8M in a funding round. Dear Media is led by CEO Michael Bosstick, and the company was co-founded with Raina Penchansky. The company is focused on millennial and Gen-Z women.
Coupled with the launch of a new networking application called AllBright Connect and the company’s AllBright Magazine, the women’s networking organization is on a full-on media blitz. The club’s first American location will be in WestHollywood, and is slated to open in September 2019.
Los Angeles-based social networking site Grindr , which serves the "gay, bi, curious and queer" market, is launching a new online, digital magazine called INTO today. WestHollywood-based Citysearch , the local online business guide owned by IAC, said Thursday that the firm has expanded its relationship with yellow pages publisher Idearc Media. Citysearch said it will integrate performance-based advertising from Idearc's Superpages.com site into its publishing network.
