Presence.Fit Raises $1.5M, Launches Mobile Fitness App

Los Angeles-based Presence.Fit announced it had raised $1.5M in a funding, and launched a new, mobile fitness app which combines live instruction with real time sensing of motion and metrics. The startup--cofounded by Dr. Masaki Nakada and Robert Jadon--says its combines artificial intelligence with live personal trainers, and runs on the iPhone. The fitness app developer says its software allows trainers to see users remotely through the front-facing camera of a mobile device, so that trainers can provide feedback on workouts and their form. The company says it is backed by such angel investors as Michael Stoppelman (former SVP of Engineering at Yelp) and Tom McInerney (seed investor in Bird, Segment, Notion). The company's app and service cost $49.99 a month.
