Jam City, Disney In Mobile Gaming Partnership

Los Angeles-based mobile game developer Jam City--which is led by former MySpace founder Chris DeWolfe--has inked a new mobile game development partnership with Disney, the two companies said this morning. According to Jam City and Disney, Jam City will take over development of Disney's existing, mobile game, Disney Emoji Blitz, and Jam City will have the right to develop new mobile games based on characters from Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios. As part of the deal, Disney's Glendale Games Studio will become part of Jam City. The two said that the first new game the two intend to create will be based on Disney Animation's Frozen sequel. Financial details of the partnership and acquisition of Disney's Glendale Games Studio were not announced.
