Only Cake PHP requires more than 100 milliseconds. As before, Raw PHP is also very strong in this test. Again, Raw PHP makes an extremely strong showing. PHP with an ORM and Cake improved dramatically from last week''s test thanks to configuration changes recommended by the community. with APC, PHP-FPM, nginx.

And let us simply draw the curtain of charity over the Cake PHP results. We were surprised by the performance of Raw PHP in this test. We suspect the PHP MySQL driver and connection pool are particularly well tuned. However, the penalty for using an ORM on PHP is severe. PHP 5.3.10. and Ruby on Rails is staggering.

And I hope you are not running on Cake PHP when you see these numbers. In looking at these numbers, seeing Cake PHP at 500x slower, Ruby-Rails and Django at 50x slower really surprised me. Important Implications Well I'm currently working with startup founders on their systems in JRuby, Django, PHP and Java.
