Fundraising is indeed brutally tough at all stages, and the seed funding is the hardest to find.

Anyone can talk a good game, and put together a proforma that looks great, and there are lots of great looking ideas, and people can even all have filed a provisional patent. We''re really looking for that first and foremost. But, can you really get out there and get customers, and get those customers to repeat orders?

Did anybody hold patents that would prevent us from using this technology? I seldom hire patent attorneys during due diligence but this was too important. She had raised seed funds from a who’s who list of investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, Marissa Mayer, Mark Cuban, Troy Carter and so on.
