REAL Aims Platform At Creators

A new, Los Angeles-based startup, REAL says it has launched a new, online platform that lets creators offer up exclusive content to their fans, using their own currency. The startup said it lets creators sell their own "coin" to fans, which will give fans access to special content. The startup is led by CEO and founder Ian McLoughlin, who previously founded LiquidSky.tv, and edge cloud computing service acquired by Walmart. REAL did not indicate if its creator currency is associated with cryptocurrency, which has been the trendy way to offer up content to users in the last few years.
