Kumbaya Expands Board

Rancho Palos Verdes-based Kumbaya , which is developing a device to bring solar- and battery- powered Internet connectivity and content to third world communities, said today that it has added a United Airlines IT executive to its board. According to Kumbaya, Silvia Prickel has joined its Board of Directors. Prickel is currently Managing Director of Application Development for United Airlines, where Kumbaya said she has spent the past 12-years in the IT department.

Consolver has worked as an executive at ExxonMobil for more than 20 years.

Jazz Semiconductor, ADSANTEC Get Win At NASA

Newport Beach-based Jazz Semiconductor and Rancho Palos Verdes-based ADSANTEC , a fabless semiconductor design firm, said today that the companies have been selected by NASA for designing a SERDES ASIC. The firms said that the high speed chip--which is used for high speed communications--will use Jazz's SiGe BiCMOS process and radiation hardened libraries from Jazz. Financial details of the win for the firms was not disclosed.
