Ozobot is an interactive robotic device, which follows the paths of mazes, interacts with a user on paper, and connects with an Android phone. Ozobot said its robot is aimed at teaching kids about robots, and also teaches them basic and advanced programming skills, coding, robotic behavior, and deductive reasoning.

Ozobot is backed by Tribeca Ventures, and recently raised $3M in a Series A funding.

The funding was led by Tribeca Venture Partners. Ozobot said the new funding goes towards product development of its products. Nader Hamda is the founder and CEO of Ozobot. Ozobot says its robot is now in 3,000 classrooms, and is being used to teach such subjects as art, English, history, science and more.

According to Edmunds.com, its Director of Vehicle Testing Dan Edmunds and Photo Editor Kurt Niebuhr drove the Tesla from Redondo Beach to New York City , in 67 hours and 21 minutes, which beats the previous record of 76 hours and 5 minutes. Camarillo-based Semtech , a manufacturer of mixed signal and analog semiconductors, announced late Wednesday that it is acquiring Irvine-based Sierra Monolithics , in a deal worth $180M in cash. Semtech said it expects the transaction to be accretive to its GAAP earnings per share within twelve months, generating approximately $50M in revenue in calendar year 2009.
