BetterWorks Adds Group, Administrative Features

Chill allows users to view, chat, and comment on live video streams via social rooms, complete with avatars representing users.

New York-based 2tor , a startup which helps universities develop online degree programs, has just raised $750,000 in additional funding, according to a regulatory filing by the firm Monday. The firm has previously raised funding from Highland Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Novak Biddle Venture Partners, and City Light Capital.

Two of the co-founders of Adly, Dan Gould and Brian Norgard , are involved with a stealth mode startup called Namesake , based in Santa Monica. Existence of the new startup has been circulating among Los Angeles entrepreneurs for the last month or so, but only recently reported elsewhere. No details on what Namesake are up to have been released, however. Both Gould and Norgard were at MySpace, which acquired their last startup, Newroo.

The round was led by The Hillman Company, and also included SVB Capital, WestRiver Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Highland Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Novak Biddle Venture Partners and City Light Capital. 2tor has an office up the street from USC near the Staples Center.
