Qualcomm Offers Up $15,000 Bounty For Vulnerability Reports

San Diego-based Qualcomm, through its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, said it is offering up a $15,000 bounty for vulnerabilities that "white hat" hackers are able to discover and report to the company involving the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor family. The firm said it believes it is the first program of its kind to be announced by a major silicon vendor. Qualcomm said the effort is part of an effort to help improve the security of its Snapdragon family of processors, LTE modems, and related technologies. The company said that, initially, over 40 security researchers who have worked with the company in the past will be invited to participate in the program, which it is running through HackerOne.
