GoTV Networks Acquired By Phunware

Sherman Oaks-based GoTV Networks , the provider of mobile applications and content, has been acquired by a Texas mobile software developer, Phunware. According to Phunware, the acquisition will add offices in San Francisco, Sherman Oaks, and San Diego. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Phunware is a developer of mobile applications for major brands and publishers. GoTV Networks was represented by Siemer & Associates in the deal.

Respawn Entertainment Acquired By EA For Up To $455M

Respawn Entertainment was led by Vince Zampella, and was based in Sherman Oaks. Los Angeles-based game studio Respawn Entertainment , best known for its development of the title Titanfall, has been acquired by Electronic Arts , the two said on Thursday afternoon. EA said it will pay $151M in cash, and up to $164M in long term equity to employees, for Respawn, plus up to $140M in performance-based milestone payments--for a deal which could be worth up to $455M.

HubHaus $1.4M To Match Professionals With Shared Housing In LA

Sherman Oaks-based home services marketplace SERVIZ , the startup led by former ReachLocal founder Zorik Gordon, said Thursday that it has expanded its services to San Diego. SERVIZ helps homeowners book home services on-demand, including finding plumbers, handymen, and other home service providers. The app provides upfront, all-inclusive prices, charging between $45 and $60 an hour for home services. SERVIZ says it background checks all of its service providers.

Mission Ventures Re-Ups On Alpine Data

FloQast said the expansion comes as it now has more than 100 employees, including 20 in a Columbus, Ohio office. Floqast is a developer of close management software, used by accountants to close their books faster. The company is led by CEO and co-founder Michael Whitmire.

Serviz Raises $12.5M More

The funding came from PointGuard Ventures, Andy Sheehan, Jeff Stibel, along with Zorik Godron and Michael Kline. The company has now raised $20M in funding. Serviz previously raised funding from Groupon.

The firm said it has launched a new Email Content Network offering, which will connect advertisers ads with email updates to consumers. Advertise.com said that advertisers can choose a category or vertical market, and use its systems to tap into a network of opt-in email publishers, automatically matching ads with users.

A patent lawsuit against educational software provider Blackboard , which was spawned by the acquisition of Sherman Oaks-based NTI Group last year, has been settled, according to Texas-based TechRadium. TechRadium, which had sued Blackboard in May after it acquired emergency messaging provider NTI Group for $182M, said that the two firms have agreed to cross-license several patents and patent applications. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
