Airspace Technologies Finds $8M For Logistics Technology

Carlsbad-based Airspace Technologies, which is developing technology for the logistics market, says it has raised $8M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Defy, and also included Qualcomm Ventures (the investment arm of Qualcomm Incorporated), Cross Culture Ventures, and Schematic Ventures. According to Airspace, it is providing "time definite" delivery and supply chain services to the healthcare, technology, and aerospace sectors. The company said that--as a result of the funding--it is looking to hire more than 40 new employees, on top of an existing staff of over 50 people. The company, led by co-founder and CEO Nick Bulcao, says its customers include LabCorp, FedEx, and Frontier Airlines.
