Cornerstone Ties Into Virtual Reality Training

Santa Monica-based Cornerstone OnDemand is dipping its toes into the world of virtual reality training, saying today that it is in a new collaboration with Facebook's Oculus, to enable VR training at work. According to Cornerstone, it will work with Oculus for Business to let shared clients build apps that can seamlessly track VR training completion data directly within the Cornerstone Learning Management System (LMS). The company said the integration helps address the problems tracking the use of VR training content, and measuring the effect it has on employee performance. Cornerstone said it also will release a software development kit (SDK) specifically for VR content developers, which will help VR content developers with user authentication, company portal authentication, tracking xAPI progress and pushing that to Cornerstone's software. Cornerstone said that new SDK will be widely available starting next year.
