GigXR Gets Strategic Investment For AR/VR CPR Training

Los Angeles-based GigXR, a developer of mixed reality simulation training for the healthcare industry, says it has received a strategic investment and partnership with a subsidiary of Northwest Permanente P.C.. Northwest is a physicial-led multispecialty group practice. Financial details of the investment were not announced. According to GigXR, the effort will focus on developing mixed reality teaching and training simulations for both healthcare professionals and introductory learners starting with Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ALS). GigXR said the investment will help it in scaling its product suite and platform. The company's mixed reality products overlay "patient holograms" that simulate cardiac arrest, and can be overlaid with mannequins that are currently used for CPR and AED (defibrillator) training.
