Signal Sciences Scores $35M For Securing Web Applications

Culver City-based Signal Sciences, which develops web application security firewalls, is announcing this morning that it has raised $35M in a Series C funding round. The funding was led by Lead Edge Capital, and also included CRV, Index Ventures, Harrison Metal and OATV. According to the company, Lorrie Norrington of Lead Edge Capital joins the company's board with the funding round. Signal Sciences develops Web Applications Firewalls (WAF), which are used to protect web applications from hacking attacks. The company's tools integrate with the DevOps ecosystem, including such software as Slack, JIRA, PagerDuty, and DataDog. Signal Sciences is led by CEO Andrew Peterson.
