Intuit Chops 120 In Woodland Hills

Financial software developer Intuit is cutting 120 employees in Woodland Hills, according to a state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, part of a larger cut involving locatoins in Illinois, Virginia, and Arizona. Intuit had sold much of its Woodland Hills operations, Intuit Financial Services, to private equity firm Thoma Bravo back in July of 2013.
Woodland Hills Firm Leads Circuit City Closure Efforts

A Woodland Hills-based liquidation firm is behind the closure of Circuit City's 567 stores, and will lead a group of firms who are operating "goiong out of business" sales at the retailer. Woodland Hills-based Great American Group is part of a joint venture that also includes SB Capital Group, LLC, Tiger Capital Group, LLC, and Hudson Capital Partners, LLC to operate the going-out-of-business sales at Circuit City's stores.
BlackLine Soars In IPO Debut

Woodland Hills-based BlackLine Software , the developer of accounting close software, soared in its IPO debut on Friday, and was trading up more than 45 percent in morning trading on the NASDAQ Global Select Market. BlackLine was trading around $24.79 at around 12:50PM EDT, up $7.79 from its IPO debut price of $17.00 per share. BlackLine had already priced at the high end of an upped IPO pricing range of between $16.00 to $17.00 per share. BlackLine is now trading as BL.
United Online Acquired By B. Riley For $170M

Woodland Hills-based United Online said Wednesday afternoon that it has agreed to be acquired by B. Riley Financial , in a deal worth $170M in cash, or $11.00 per share. According to a statement from interim CEO Jeff Goldston, the deal came after an "extensive process" to explore a "full range of strategic alternatives". The company said it will allow its only remaining operating business--its communications segment--to continue under B. Riley.

Phansteil--who had only been CEO since November 18th--has resigned, although he will continue as a director and Chairman of the Board for the company. Goldstein was the former President of PriceGrabber, which he had led from April 2013 until its sale to Connexity last June.

BlackLine Software Prices IPO

Woodland Hills-based BlackLine Software , the developer of accounting and financial close software, has priced its IPO, saying late Thursday evening that it will sell 8,600,000 shares of its common stock at $17.00 per share. BlackLine will start trading Friday morning on the NASDAQ Global Select Market as BL. BlackLine priced at the high range of an already increased estimated IPO range, which was set to $16.00 to $17.00 earlier this week.

The provider of services to help small businesses place Internet advertising said it named Kris Barton to the position. Barton was previously at Nero, where he was Chief Operating Officer. The firm saw an overall, 28 percent growth in its revenues from year to year, with particular growth in international markets. ReachLocal saw its international revenues grow 76%, from $13.4M in Q3 of 2010, to $23.56M in Q3 of this year. Domestically, direct local revenues were up 34%.
