Aptera Is Back, With Solar Powered Car

San Diego-based Aptera, the latest reincarnation of an electric car maker started in 2005, has announced a new, solar powered car, which recharges from the sun, and not from a plug. The electric car maker, which had originally been founded in 2005, but went bankrupt in 2011, re-formed in 2019 under the lead of original founders Christ Anthony and Steve Fambro. Aptera announced its new Paradigm "solar electric vehicles" last week, which it says it is now offering up for reservations. Aptera's 100-mile range Paradigm starts at $29,900, and is expected to be produced in 2021; the company was offering up 220, limited edition versions of the vehicle for reservation, but now says it is sold out.
