Grind Banking Aims At African American Community

Los Angeles-based Grind Banking, a new fintech startup, says it is looking to cater to the needs of African American consumers, as well as other underserved communities, with its new products. The startup says it will offer up FDIC insured debit accounts, and a mobile banking app specifically aimed at the African American community. According to Grind, it was created specifically to fill the void created in 2017 when Russell Simmons' RushCard was sold to Green Dot. Grind Banking's founder is B.C. Silver, who the company says was a general manager in a "large mobile banking organization"; the company is headquartered in LA's Crenshaw District.
