Westlake Village BioPartners Taps Former SVB Leerink Exec As COO

Los Angeles-based venture capital investor Westlake Village BioPartners said on Wednesday that it has named Peter Calveley, previously Managing Director in the Investment Banking Group at SVB Leerink, as its Chief Operating Officer. According to the firm, Calveley will help power its portfolio of promising life sciences companies, and also aid in its expansion of its Los Angeles Biotech Hub. Westlake Village BioPartners said that Calveley will also be responsible for co-investor, investment banking, and strategic partner relationships for its portfolio companies and for Westlake. Calveley previously also served at Merrill Lynch and Alexion Pharmaceuticals.
