Ordermark Gets $18M In Series B

Culver City-based Ordermark, which develops software to help restaurants manage the orders and headache of having to deal with multiple, disparate, mobile delivery services, has raised $18M in a Series B funding, the company announced on Monday morning. According to the company, the new funding was led by Foundry Group, and also included TenOneTen Ventures, Vertical Venture Partners, Mucker Capital, Act One Ventures, and Nosara Capital. Ordermark said the new funding will go to scale its growth, perfect new products and features, and integrate with existing restaurant technologies. Ordermark was founded by Alex Canter, part of the family behind LA's Canter's deli, after seeing the headaches that multiple delivery services were creating at Canter's. Ordermark's systems also have been instrumental in the creation of "virtual restaurants"--restaurants which only exist virtually through such mobile ordering services as UberEats, and which actually use the restaurant facilities of existing storefronts and even nondescript industrial kitchens.
