CIM Group Start Construction On 2.7 Gigawatt Solar Park

Los Angeles-based CIM Group, a real estate developer, says it has started on construction of what will be one of the largest permitted solar parks in the world. According to the company, the company's new development, in western Fresno and Kings Counties, could grow to be as large as more than 2,700 megawatts (2.7 gigawatts) at full buildout. The company said its initial buildout is a 250-megawatt solar photovoltaic project called Aquamarine, which will provide power to the Valley Clean Energy Alliance, a locally governed electricity provider for the California cities of Davis and Woodland and unincorporated portions of Yolo County. CIM says it specifically has been targeting selenium-contaminated and drainage-impaired farmland for the development of clean energy.
