Violux Finds $1.2M In Funding For UV Light Cleaning

Orange County-based Violux, a startup developing ultraviolet light (UV-C) home cleaning devices, announced this morning that it has raised $1.2M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by Okapi Venture Partners, and also included Unlock Ventures and Envoy Ventures. Violux says it has developed a UV-C light disinfection device, designed to fight the COVID-19 coroanvirus adn other germs, bacteria, and viruses, and which can be used to quickly disinfect high touch objects. The company's lead products are the Luma and Luma Pro, which are counter-top devices which users can place their high touch household items, such as smartphones, remote controls, keys, and ore for quick disinfection; the Luma Pro disinfects items in sixty seconds, and the Luma has a three minute cleaning time. Violux is led by CEO and co-foudner Sean Clottu. According to Violux, it has also joined UC Irvine's Wayfinder venture program.
