Armata Pharmaceuticals Swizzles CEO

Marina Del Ray-based biotech Armata Pharmaceuticals said today that it has swizzled its CEO, saying that its current CEO, Todd R. Patrick, is retiring, and the company has appointed Brian Varnum, Ph.D., as its new CEO. Varnum was previously President and Chief Development Officer. The company said that Patrick will continue to serve on its board, and serve as a special advisor to the company through at least 2022. Armata is developing precisely targeted bacteriophage therapeutics for the treatment of antibiotic-resistant and difficult-to-treat bacterial infections using its proprietary bacteriophage-based technology.
