Bird Boosts Battery, Other Scooter Features

Santa Monica-based on-demand, scooter startup Bird has rolled out an upgrade to its scooters, saying last week that it has launched the Bird Two, a new scooter that includes 50 percent more battery, self-reporting damage sensors, and other new features. According to Bird, the new scooter is designed to help provide "even greater" unit economics for the company. Among other features of the new e-scooter are puncture-proof tires, an anti-tipping kickstand, no exposed screws, and what it says are "anti-theft encryption" features. Bird said, for example, that the exposed screws in its other scooters had made vandalism easier.
