Company Plans Offshore Wind Farm Off Central Coast

A wind energy development company, based in Chicago, said it has secured an offshore wind lease off of the Central California Coast. According to Invenergy California Offshore LLC, it has secured a lease for 80,418 acres of seabed for operating an offshore wind development. THe bid was worth $145.3M. The auction was run by the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). Invenergy did not say when it plans to start work on that offshore wind farm.
