Central Desktop Taps Into Akamai

Pasadena-based Central Desktop, an online software-as-a-service site offering online project management software, said Thursday that the firm is tapping Akamai to improve its offering. According to Central Desktop, it is using Akamai's service specifically to scale and improve performance of its software-as-a-service offering. Central Desktop's project management tools compete against such software as Microsoft's SharePoint portal; the firm offers its products on a monthly subscription basis.
