| The SEMAT Initiative and EPF : SoCal SPIN. Late in 2009, a large number of big names in the software engineering community formed a body called SEMAT, Software Engineering Method and Theory. The call for action launched an initiative to refound software engineering on sound method and theory in an attempt to harmonize the large number of method and method variants buzzing around the marketplace.
