LP contributions to VC firms shrunk from 2000 and by 2005-2008 had stabilized to around $30 billion per year. The number of startups being created has increased by an order of magnitude.

When I started my second company in 2005 we decided to do everything differently. During my second startup we never considered using cloud computer processing for our real-time processes but we did run some batch processes there. I see the same again with the entertainment industry. Processing. We all know about IMDB.
