Current round: $8.1mm in Series C by S3 Ventures (lead), Adams Capital Mgmt, Triangle Peak Partners. Brought in new CEO, Russ Reeder in 2008.

They started by offering cloud storage (S3) on a super cheap, pay-as-you consume basis. These funds were active back in 2006 when I was raising money for my second company. Amazon allowed 22-year-old tech developers to launch companies without even raising capital. They came from a different perspective.

Yes, social networks of 2010 have much better usability, have better developed 3rd-party platforms and many more people are connected. MySpace was: scantily dressed, teenaged, middle-America, design chaos and on ad steroids. Twitter seems to have become a bit allergic to third-party developers (or maybe vice-versa).
