Everyone from our team is from Finland, one is from Portugal, and we come and go between California and Finland. How did you end up here in Southern California? I then went back to Europe to create a company called Fruugo, which was a big startup back in the day, in 2006 in Europe. We have 200,000 individual votes so far.

It was started at the University of Southern California in 2006-2007. The product is now being deployed, and has been used and validated by the US Air Marshal Service, the US Coast Guard, and the LA airport police. We''re now scaling it up, and we''ve also filed seven patents in that process.

I then went to Pepperdine University School of Law and graduated in 2006 with a Certificate from the Geoffrey H. It also helps if there is a reason that other people can’t compete with you, either because of some trade secret or patent. What networking events in Los Angeles or Southern California do you go to?

It was funded in 2006 with about $8M in investments, and we were fortunate to have the benefit of that investment in the development of the intellectual property. We also assumed over 50 pending patents, from ten different patent families. But, it was important that was in Southern California.
