There were startups and a software industry but barely. Between 2006–2008 I sold both companies that I had started and became a VC. SEEING THINGS FROM THE VC SIDE OF THE TABLE While I was a VC in 2007 & 2008 those were dead years because the market again evaporated due the the Global Financial Crisis (GFC).

In the first post in this three part series I described why I believe the VC market froze between September 2008 – April 2009. We spent our future since the equity was artificial. It affects even B2B companies because ultimately most must sell to companies who sell to consumers and if they suffer they cut back on suppliers.

It’s like people arguing that there’s a beautiful beach house in 2006 that represents great long-term value due to scarcity of similar property. I said, “It’s much easier now than it was in 2008/09.&# That happened a lot in 2002 and again in 2008. That doesn’t mean it’s not a bubble.
