Was it a Startup Founder Developer Gap ? Did they really need a Startup CTO or Developer or both? Did they have a Weak Development Team ? I would caution any founder that finding and being successful with equity-only developers is tough. Was it a case of needing Homework? It can be done, but it’s hard.

They get to meet the team, we do some due diligence, and have them talk to functional experts. I jumped in at the end of 2010, just as the majority of investments happened--I think $50M to $52M came in 2011. Once they pass that, they get into the incubator. That led to the expansion to the second location.

Its also been interesting to see the interaction of tools involved - Social Networking, Blogging and a Discussion Group. We have been using LinkedIn for both sourcing recruits and reviewing backgrounds for recruits. The level of resumes we get through our LinkedIn networks is top notch. How do you use LinkedIn?
