In the bay area there are dozens of firms that are actively making investments. If there were more great companies coming out of LA then it would create more demand for high quality VC firms. There simply are NOT enough venture capital firms in the Southern California. It’s a chicken and egg problem.

The issue of cyber-espionage, targeting companies like Target, Home Depot and Anthem Insurance, continues to be a concern. The industry will continue to invest heavily in educating people and convincing them to try internet security products (free versions & life-time trials). While a huge push will come from China and the U.S.
