El Segundo-based video advertising netowrk AdExcite has merged with online display ad firm Q1 Media , the two companies said Wednesday. The firm said the new company will operate as Q1Media, and use AdExcite's brand name for its video and mobile video product lines. Financial details of the merger were not disclosed.

Ace Metrix , a provider of technology for television advertising analytics, said today that it has raised $8M in a funding round from WPP, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Leapfrog Ventures, and Palomar Ventures. The firm, which is headquartered in Mountain View, also has operations in El SEgundo, and was founded in Los Angeles.

Irvine-based WebVisible , which helps small businesses place online advertising, said this morning it is in a big hiring push, and is immediately looking to hire over 75 employees across sales, IT, software engineering, and product design positions. The firm said it received more than 600 applications from that job fair.
