Among the dozens of participants that applied for the online competitions, only a few progressed into the semifinals.

I had just returned from living in Japan where I witnessed the hugely successful launch of i-mode by NTT DoCoMo so I knew the potential that the mobile web would ultimately bring, but I saw so many flaws in the launch of WAP. I was attending a major industry conference in Barcelona at the height of the WAP excitement. Or would it?

In fact, I said as much in September 09 at a Twitter conference in LA on a panel that Guy Kawasaki was moderating. First, I believe that Seesmic has an excellent product – especially the web version of their product and that having another senior and experienced exec like Loic Le Meur would be great for Twitter.

was the “static&# web. Traditional media companies published their stories on the web. was the 2-way web. I then remember when Amazon started selling books on the web. A healthy eco-system of application developers is required for any software or Internet company to be massively successful.
