In many ways, this was like all the other Tesla events I’ve attended: the pumpy music and mood lighting, the designed-to-inspire kick off video, the Tesla superfans (pictured below), and the long lines for a brief test ride. The city is prepping for coming deluge by creating designated parking areas and other signage.

Spark Capital, Flybridge, Founder Collective, NextView Ventures … all in Boston or Cambridge not west of the city. It’s becoming harder to distinguish tech companies from media companies.

The biggest difference I cite is that Venture Capital often feels like an “individual sport” while startups are a “team sport.” Funds like First Round Capital, True Ventures, Foundry Group, HomeBrew, USV and many others are still run by the founders and are still on the mission they started.
