A number of Southern California angel investors, including Jody Mulkey , the CIO of Shopzilla, have backed Scripted.com , a new online marketplace for freelance writers. Scripted.com, which is led by Sunil Rajaraman, also counts Break Media's Keith Richman as an advisor, along with actor/writer/director Edward Burns.

We have universities like CalTech, UCLA, USC and many more. But LA is not Silicon Valley and we don’t need to aspire to be so. Funding is different – In Silicon Valley you have mega venture capital funds and many of them. As a result many funds are OK with big bets. And still much work to be done.
