I started as a teenager, and I did babysitting, life guarding, and swim coaching. So, we moved forward from there, and organically grew, creating a boutique agency. We wanted to bring together the babysitters and nannies in the community, and started working with them as contracts. Are your sitters W2 or contract employees?

It is never as rewarding when you’re the coach (but coaching has many other benefits. So I organized a team dinner with all four of my partners and all three of their founders. I had been competing to win a contract at Thames Water, the largest water company in the UK. We met everybody in the organization.

They were looking for a collaboration tool to manage all of their large water development projects. The momentum had shifted.

At a recent accelerator event on the West Side, a friendly young founder told me that he had been coached by his mentor not to talk to Angel groups. But as a community, we have to figure out how Angels can effectively participate in the development of accelerator-based companies. The Angel funding process can be arduous.
