Santa Monica-based Edmunds.com , the online automotive information site, is ramping up its efforts to update its reach to consumers, saying that it has launched a new, real-time car shopping advice service called "EdmundsLive". Edmunds CEO Jeremy Anwyl has been pushing Edmunds to update its brand and features since last September.

TrueCar said that Damon Cleckler has joined the firm in the position, after serving as executive director of product management at Edmunds.com, where he helped develops Edmunds "True Market Value" and "New Car Finder" products. The company said Cleckler will work on aiding in development of car pricing tools on the site.
