I acted as the occasional mentor, advisor and coach to Ethan. And I had been telling my partners for a couple of years that I thought Ethan was one of the more talented entrepreneurs I had come across in San Francisco. The company was called Red Beacon. I was standing with him when he won the TechCrunch 50 award.

1) Get A Mentor. "I Ignorance is not bliss in business, but it does allow entrepreneurs to face the unknown with a measure of confidence. No 19-year old understands business at the level of a seasoned, serial entrepreneur. " I recently performed a 360-Review on two Co-Founders who were the company's CEO and CTO.

Our founder, Yves Sisteron, was my mentor and board member at my first startup. And the fact that we’ve all worked for a decade with Dana Kibler who is our long-time CFO and now helping run Investment Operations & Platform Services we have a truly senior & killer internal team. Mafias matter a lot to me, as well.

SocialEngine is a white-label, community platform. We have some great mentors now. Thanks to TechStars, we've got an awesome mentor who's co-habitating with us now, and we're learning something daily from him. It's actually uncommon to have a female CTO.
