The terms “CTO&# and “VP Engineering&# have such stigmas associated with what they are that I’m sure some people will feel uncomfortable with the definitions I’ve put forward.

Always have a developer do a test project before hiring them to make sure they deliver quality work. Understand that people are motivated to be a part of a larger vision and to work with someone they believe in.
