The only other ways to get discovered was to have good organic search results or to get covered by a major blog site. I had intended to talk about how bad the process could become, not to name-and-shame anybody (and The Funded was not yet around). Consumer approach to software for business users. And covered we did.

My firm GRP Partners recently funded a young LA based company named Ad.Ly Wordpress), video (YouTube), pictures (Flickr), review sites (Yelp) and collaborative content (Wikipedia). Because they wouldn’t have the enormous amounts of profits that they’ve been able to sink back into research & development.
