GRP Partners is looking to hire two analysts (maybe even three) to join our practice in Los Angeles. If this isn’t you, we’d probably still have a look if you did something truly exception – probably at startup or tech firm. We want somebody who is ready, willing and able to debate tech with us.

And we chose to locate ourselves 3 blocks East of The Third Street Promenade where much new development is taking place. Perhaps the biggest piece of new news is that after 17 years of operations we’ve changed our name from GRP Partners to Upfront Ventures. We want a place that feels approachable – not stuffy.

We’re here for Greycroft’s CEO Summit – a gathering of the CEO’s of their portfolio companies with guest speakers covering topics including how to build your team, PR, customer development, etc. It is the key to “customer development” that Steve Blank talks about. My action item – I will soon announce the GRP Partners CEO Summit.

This was in large part due to the marketing efforts of Jason that created a great top end of the funnel (100+ companies applied) and the herculean efforts of Tyler Crowley who spent days going through all of the submissions and serving up 5 very interesting companies. My personal favorite and best fit for GRP Partners was Thumbtack.

My firm GRP Partners recently funded a young LA based company named Ad.Ly so compelling (other than the fact that the CEO Sean Rad is a great young technology leader and his advisers – Brian Norgard , Dan Gould and Evan Rifkin - are some of the guys I respect most in the LA tech market.). So did the media.
