The Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) held its annual awards event last night, honoring former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, as well as local, venture backed companies in a banquet last night at the Luxe hotel in Los Angeles. Other IPO finalists were RealD , ReachLocal , and Inphi.

Robison reports that the company now has over 400 employees, spread across seven building in a Carpinteria campus, in addition to a web development branch in Calabasas, and sales offices in the UK and Australia. As part of the big new funding, Andrew Braccia of Accel and Vic Parker of Spectrum have both joined the company's board.

Funding is different – In Silicon Valley you have mega venture capital funds and many of them. But we do have great technology developers. You can hire a talented head of marketing, business development, technology and sales. You need to for conferences, business development and often for sales.
